Number 4 is probably Chlorophyllum molybdites. 9 looks like Leucoagaricus americanus. Very nice photos.

Thank you. I've been hunting mushrooms about 8 years. The last few haven't been very good with the weather. Hoping that will change with El nino pattern.

After the long drought here, a couple weeks ago we had a foot of rain in a week. I was able to find a good amount of boletes to run the dehydrator a couple times. They weren't too pretty so I didn't get pictures. Dried enough for two quart jars. Boletus Separans mostly and Variipes and Auripes. Oddly there were not too many chanterelles out. Horton's bolete makes an appearance in the same area every year. I usually just see one so I don't pick it. Second picture is a Variipes I think. Was nice while it lasted. It will be dry and 100 degrees this week.

My favorite to hunt and find are morels because I never find very many. Really challenging. My favorite to eat is Maitake. Of course they're fun to hunt too but hard to find. Some of the trees where I found them in 2018 haven't produced since.

Interesting it was so far away. Hopefully you'll have plenty more. I've looked around lots and lots of dead trees with wood debris and I have them in one consistent location.

It seems that a lot of people are not on here anymore. Last Saturday I found 8 black ones. Today 5 black and 3 yellow. Much better than last year when I found none.

Yes very nice! I found my biggest haul of those this year. Over a pound of them before dried.

No I haven't tried the coral. I've been hunting mushrooms for 5 years and it's the first I've seen.

Been a hot dry summer here. Now there's a cooler wet pattern. Found nice assortment of boletes in the button stage and first time finding Crown tipped coral.

That's for sure. Sometimes I think it rains at our place based on the radar but when we go look days later no mushrooms. We have timber 25 miles from home. Seems like the radar lies.

Didn't get the rain I hoped for. I still have a lot of trumpets I dried 2 years ago. I've found them in August/September also before.

Interesting. My ancestors came from Pennsylvania. Yeah this state is good for morels but I couldn't find any this year. Didn't have enough rain in April. We had about a 1/2 inch from Cristobal. I'll see if I can find some trumpets.

Nice haul! Only edibles I found lately were wood ears and I was too lazy to dry them. I saw very few mushrooms on the ground yesterday.

Looks like a small oyster. Yellow cap. Growing on oak limb that was laying on ground.

I think so. They stick together easily. The gills and stem look similar to the turpentine wax cap in my field guide except the cap dries fast and isn't slimy. Pleasant smell.

Found just one in oak hickory woods but I've seen a lot of them before. Cap is peach buff with darker center. White spores.

No I haven't. Just heard people have found them under tulip poplar and thought I had a good place to look. The trees were around creek bottom areas too. I've only found a few small blacks under cherry.

I looked around at least 50 tulip poplar last weekend and didn't see any. Found a few black ones under black cherry trees last year. Don't get it. I thought the poplar forest would have a lot.

That's interesting. I will check my spots one more time before deer season.

I don't see any chanterelles. Probably at least a couple types of gilled mushrooms.
