budko
Pictures taken today, a gloomy overcast sky. Mushrooms are in an area where in the past a maple tree was growing. The tree was removed about 8 years ago. Can you tell from the picture if they are edible?
svs
looks like something from Hypholoma family which contains few edibles but also poisonous sulfur turf. Can't tell for sure. Yellowish gills make me suspicious. you may also check "brick cap" post few posts below which has pictures of another Hypholoma mushroom
budko
Thank you SVS. Based on your observation: "Can't tell for sure. Yellowish gills make me suspicious.", I'll not risk eating them.
Dave W
Yeah, I think I see a greenish tinge on the gills. This would indicate the likelihood of Hypholoma fasciculare (Sulphur Tuft).
