Dig
I found a very pretty patch of Destroying Angels ‘Amanita ocreata’ near a beautiful young Woodland Agaricus ‘Agaricus silvicola’. These mushrooms were roughly 100’ apart. At this stage the agaricus gills are still white. Not a mistake that I would likely make, but this could be one and done 😵 The mushroom with some yellow coloring is the agaricus (although I have seen plenty that are white, see last pic). flipjargendy
Thanks for the pics. There is a mushroom that is a choice edible that growns in Minnesota. Destroying Angel doernt grow in Minnesota from what I hear. Still, I have always thought it looked a little too much like Destroying Angel to risk it. Its a dangerous mushroom and kind of plain... but still interesting looking.

I haven't been collecting them or trying to pin down exactly what they are but I am finding pure white presumed Amanitas that could be A. bisporigera or kin in northern WI and MN. I haven't felt like mixing them in and bringing them home with my edibles. Here's a couple pics Just curious, what is the choice edible to which you refer? Where are you finding those Dig? In the Sacramentos or Guadalupes? As soon as mushroom season is over up here I hope to be heading that way, but it will be over by the time I get there too. I am hunting the Sacramento portion of the Lincoln forest, there is also the smokey bear branch of the Lincoln that encompasses Ruidoso. I was hunting ~9200’ near Bensons Ridge. Dig
@clamp connectionIt seems like I am almost always a week off. Bugs seem to get to the yummy ones pretty fast. Prime hunting now btw. Hit me up if you would like to go hunting. Zero boletes found this year so far. Rains are late this year but it has been wet for 2 weeks.🤫
clamp connection
Unfortunately I won't get down there until December or January, when the Sacramentos will be buried in snow.

I wish I could remember. It has been a few years since someone told me. It was a variation of Amanita if I remember right.
