Dave W
I think this is an example of Mycena pura with an unusually pigmented cap. The purple tint on the gills may be due to the pigment showing through the translucent cap. Stem color on M. pura varies from white to much darker. Odor and/or taste are often radish-like. Another Mycena that has some purple coloration is M. rutilantiformis. There are a few species of Hygrocybe that are similarly colored. Gills on Hygrocybes are generally broader than the fairly shallow gills seen here. But I think this possibility may be worthy of consideration. Other types of gilled purple mushrooms come from genera Russula, Lepista, Laccaria, Cortinarius, Baeospora. None of these are possibilities here. Dave W
Correction! I think this purple mushroom is an example of Gymnopus iocephalus. http://www.mushroomexpert.com/gymnopus_iocephalus.html
