Friend of mine picked these yesterday and sked me to find out what they are.

Bluish staining where picked and along gills. Cap brown center turning white on edges

Looks like a species of Cortinarius, or possibly Hebeloma. Another possibility for the genus is Inocybe. Spore print color? Sometimes it's necessary to use a microscope to make this distinction. 

I think the bluish tinge seen in the one photo may be a function of lighting. Looks like an indoor photo taken in low light. Note how the background also looks bluish.
