Z-Unit22
Been coming to this location for weeks now harvesting these Pleurotus Citrinopileatus (Golden Oyster) mushrooms. They apparently aren't from the U.S. and escaped captivity and are spreading around the country now. No wonder they are spreading like crazy the ones I saw today looked like they were smoking but they were just spreading millions of spores everywhere. I have never actually seen mushroom sporating like this in person. They definitely might become a problem for native species because of how fast they grow and spread. I am not mad at it though because they are abundant, delicious, healthy and really pretty to look at and cook with. I have only eaten a little rosette of them but damn they were tasty. Just wanted to share some pictures of this honey hole. I don't find tasty edible mushroom honey holes that often and hunt all the time. These are also kinda new to Pa apparently and a weird non native species so that's kinda interesting. Gonna eat a whole bunch tonight since I know I am not allergic this time cooking them.
