Agaricus Newbie

Agaricus Newbie (1/5)

  1. In some species, only the mycelium glows, others, only the fruit body glows. These include Mycena sp. , a lot Armillaria mycelium glows. Some Omphalotus do as well But IMO, I believe this is probably not a glowing mushroom
  2. There are bioluminescent mushrooms, but pick one, and look at it in the dark and see
  3. I found all three of these mushrooms on a small, grassy hill occupied solely by large fir trees. No clue as to any potential species Sorry. I didn't think to spore print them before I threw them into my woods. Mushroom #1 was growing in a straight line from one of the firs, some in clumps of 3 or 4 Mushroom #2 was growing in a huge patch in the grass a ways for the trees Mushroom #3 was alone in the middle of all the grass
  4. I am quite sure that this is a matsutake. I went out today, but could not recall where I found its little bro
  5. Found on a stump with some younger ones. I am very unfamiliar with these tree mushrooms, but I am aware that these or similar ones are "painter's mushrooms" ID would be nice. Very close to a brook.
  6. Thanks for the reply, Dave. I think I will wait for the other one to grow, I will dig it out, and do some more thorough research
  7. I went for a trek in my temperate woods this late October to find this beast. I couldn't get the stem (which was flawless white), for the majority was under wet, dense soil in a very woody area loaded with dead tree matter and composted leaf material. Tasted, not swallowed. Very mild, bland taste. Somewhat chemical smell(varies from person to person what they name a smell) Cap goes under the edge of the cap, maybe a veil. Thinking Agaricus sp. What do you guys think?
