  1. two more, this is the last of them for this round.
  2. Thanks for the crack at it. Found these back behind the office building today. I really need to get a field book. Google is less than helpful.
  3. Yep. Around the lake it seems to be mostly exclusively elm trees. I especially search around the dead ones. Ironically, a member of my family called yesterday and said they found quite a large one under a pine tree. I wonder if there are other species of mushrooms that could be used as indicators for proximity and conditions favorable to morels. I found a bunch of other mushrooms today behind my work building. Posting pictures of them in the other thread I started "ID?". Thanks for the welcome.
  4. I was looking around a lake over the weekend for Morels in central Ohio. I didn't find any at all . But I did find this little fella. Have no idea what it is. Tried to look for similar pictures on the net, but didn't see anything that was a dead on match to my eyes. The gills on the bottom seem pretty wild looking or maybe it was just sagging and affecting the way they looked. I'm sure it is something common, but I am new to all of this.
  5. Hi- I am new from central Ohio. I am just north of Columbus. Mostly new to mushroom hunting. Went for Morels when I was a kid and now trying to get back to it. Interested in learning about other edible mushrooms and the like. I mostly look in the area around Alum Creek, but haven't been having any luck finding much of anything.
