I came across several clusters of these on the edge between a damp grassy area and a mulched area. The caps are quite fibrous, a reddish brown color, the largest of which are about 3cm in diameter. The gills are very dark brown and closely clustered; I'm waiting on a spore print right now. The mushrooms are about 6 cm in height, with whitish stems that also appear to be sparsely fibrous. The stems are about .75 cm thick and the mushrooms appear pretty sturdy. I'm not really seeing a ring, but I'm not sure. The closest match I could find is Lacrymaria velutina. Does anyone have thoughts?

I grew up in Michigan hunting morels every spring and have recently become fascinated with the foraging practice and community! I'm down in Tennessee now and looking for buddies to forage with/recommendations of good spots to explore. I'm new to identification and am looking forward to learning as I go.
