    It did feel pretty firm although I didnt not harvest due to not being sure of its identification. Thanks for your reply!

    I'm fairly new to foraging...But I found what appears to be chickens with some kinda white chalky, crusty substance on the caps. Found in a stand of large Oaks with mixture of Hickorys.... KY. Shane
