Arhodes
I’m new at mushroom hunting and I’m trying to find out if you guys on here can tell me what mushroom this is. Thank you in advance!
Dave W
Need to see the undersides. But, my low-confidence guess at this point is these mushrooms represent a species of Pleurotus. "Hen of the Woods" is Grifola frondosa. The ones see here are definitely not this species. "Chicken Mushroom" is a common name given to species of Laetiporus. The ones seen here are not Laetiporus. "Chicken" and "Hen" refer to different types of mushrooms.
bobby b
They have gills, close to tight running down the stem.
Jared
Look into the “oyster mushroom.” I’ve seen quite a bit and these look very similar to that species, although a bit old. If you can correctly identify them, they are a choice edible! They should have a white spore print
