TWM
They are just growing in the middle of my sister's yard and the dogs seemed interested in them.
Dave W
I don't recognize this species. Clusters on the lawn appear to possibly be following submerged roots (of a tree). This growth pattern suggests Armillaria/Desarmillaria tabescens. The overall appearance looks different than what I'd expect; although the appearance of A./D. tabescens is variable. Not sure if the species is known to occur in British Columbia. When wild mushrooms pop up in an area frequented by a small child or a pet, the best thing to do is remove the mushrooms and discard them. GCn15
A. Tabescens does occur in BC. However, the stems look awfully dark. Perhaps damaged by frost?
troutddicted
Look like armillaria to me as well... Any photos of younger mushrooms? Ones that are just starting to pop up?
TWM
Thanks everyone. I'll see if I can get any more pictures. As for removing them, there are hundreds of them. Should be fun
