Mushroom69
Found these in the middle of the trail while i was picking chestnuts. The hats of these mushrooms are different turning up instead of down which is throwing me off. Spore test came back purple.
The Mushroom Whisperer
Did you just get a lot of rain? Do you know if they were growing from the wood or the ground? The cap looks smooth in the pics, was it? And can you post a pic of the spore print?
Mushroom69
Yes it rained 2 days ago for some time. It was growing off the rotten wood. Yeah it is smooth no bumps, just a little curvy.

Dave W
What is your location Mushroom 69? Proibably a species of Hypholoma, one of which is H. lateritium (Brick Caps). If they are growing on wood (possibly buried wood), then knowing the types of wood is useful. Mainly in western North America, Leratiomyces ceres produces mushrooms somewhat similar to Hypholoma mushrooms and with a similar dark purple-brown spore print. I don't think the ones seen here represent genus Leratiomyces. But I think it's worth mentioning. Some species of Hypholoma are considered to be toxic.
