Found growing from moss on a dead log

Those are young fruit bodies of Royoporus badius (aka. Picipes badius, and in older field guides Polyporus badius).   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royoporus_badius  I think that what appears to be shallow gills are folds/wrinkles in the pore surface. Pores for young R. badius are very small, difficult to see. These usually start growing in spring. I think the recent spell of warm weather must have tricked them.
