JShrooom
I came across this white mushroom in the woods while hiking in southern Ohio and I am new to mushroom identification / hunting. Does anyone have any idea of what this mushroom species this is? Appreciate the help, Thanks! 😀
Dave W
Species of Amanita representing section Lepidella. Possibly A. cokeri or A. subcokeri. Need to see the base of the stalk (which would need to be excavated). Probably poisonous, possibly dangerously so.
JShrooom
Hi Dave, Thank you, I appreciate the response. Okay, yes that helps a lot. I assumed it was a poisonous amentia species, but just wanted to get an opinion from someone with more experience. Just am observing any fungi I see in the woods more closely(after my first morel hunt this spring) and am trying to learn! Thanks again:)
