Jed
We had an early and warmer than usual summer this year. I was able to pick the chanterelles at least two weeks earlier than usual. In turn, I thought that the season for them is coming to end sooner. However, yesterday I was surprised to see that a second crop is growing in many spots which I couldn’t remember happening before. Any thoughts? JOHNY
Interesting. Last summer was wet and we got loads of Chanterelles. Growing from GROUND in Aspen/Spruce/Maple mixed woods. Then last fall, with more rain, another big flush of Chanterelles showed up. And many grew out of MOSS exactly as your pictures show. Seems like the late season Chanterelles are either a different sub species and/or require an alternate habitat.
