SteveNiles
I would like to know what the name of this specimen is?
brendan
Up until recently I would have quickly said it was likely L. cincinnatus, a type of chicken of the woods, but due to some recent discussions on this forum I will leave the possibility open that it could be Berkeley's polypore. Is the orange more pronounced than it appears in the photo?
bobby b
Need to see the underside, but this looks like Berkeyley's polypore.
Dave W
Wow! Tricky. As this matures the answer should become more clear. Could be either Laetiporus (Chicken) or Bondarzerwia berkeleyii (Berkeley's Polypore). My guess is Laetiporus cinncinatus. I deleted the post of this same mushroom. Please don't cause us to need to view the same thing more than once.
