Jared Posted July 2, 2020 Report Share Posted July 2, 2020 Even if it isn’t chicken if the woods, I’m fairly sure there aren’t any seriously poisonous polypores that look similar to the one you found. Dave W Posted July 3, 2020 Report Share Posted July 3, 2020 I'd say these are a species of Laetiporus, probably L. sulphureus. Some people are slightly allergic to Laetiporus. If you try it, begin with a small amount ell-cooked. Most polypores are not toxic. But, at least one species --Hapalopilus nidulans-- is deadly poisonous.
