mikerho
Hi Everyone! I found these in the front lawn a few days ago. Can anyone confirm if these are genus Boletus. They have slimy caps. If Boletes, what species? bolete 1.bmp bolete 2.bmp bolete 3.bmp bolete 4.bmp bolete 5.bmp bolete 6.bmp bolete 7.bmp
Sunny_0ne
mikerho, I was only able to download the 1st one. Those bitmap files are HUGE, 9mb each, and I have a slow 3G connection. From what I saw, your photo looks like a suillus, a bolete with a brown spore print and slimy cap. Someone else with more knowledge will be around shortly. vitog
Mikerho, if you want more members to look at your photos, you will be better off attaching .jpg files of a few MB total size. I assume that these are Suillus, as mentioned by Sunny_One; that genus is very common in the west, especially near pines and Douglas-Fir trees. They are generally edible, but the ones that I've tried don't have much flavor; so I never bother picking them.
