Any idea?

For quite some time, this type had been known by the name Ganoderma lucidum. But this species is now believed to have a much more restricted distribution than previously believed. Worldwide, there are several new species names for the hardwood-associating "Varnished Ganoderma" polypores. Here in PA we have G. curtisii and G. sessile. The ones seen here don't look like either of these two. However, the link below contains a photo/info that appears to suggest the ones seen in this post represent G. curtisii.   http://forestpathology.cfans.umn.edu/pdf/Ganoderma of southeastern US extension bulletin.pdf

Note that the pores surface on the "double-capped" mushroom seen in the photographs beginning this discussion are covered with green mold. These are not suitable for making Reishi. I'm guessing the other one seen is also quite old, as the cap surface isn't very shiny.
