jdcooper
I didn't post this in the ID forum since I don't plan on consuming any of these. Simply Curious if my ID's are correct. Boletus Badius Amanita Albocreata Have no idea Russula Delica? Are these some sort of ink cap? Coprinospis Atramentaria? They were growing out of a bale of hay sitting out in full sun. theplanets
Last one looks too thin and small to be Coprinospis atramentaria, IMO.
Dave W
Maybe Coprinopsis lagopus...? Difficult to tell when they're that old. But I agree with planets' assessment about the stalk being too long/thin for C. atramentaria. Stalk also appears to be scaly/hairy, a trait of C. lagopus. There's another similar type that grows exclusively on manure... the name escapes me right now. The "no idea" looks like a very old partially dried up Agaricus. Albocreata is a good possibility for the Amanita. I sometimes get confused with distinguishing A. albocreata and A. praecox. Albocreata lacks a ring on the stalk, and praecox has a ring that often falls off. I'd lean toward albocreata with this observation. Did the pores on the bolete bruise grayish-blue or maybe a bit greenish? Russula delica is a type I have not IDed. But doing a quick check (Rogersmushrooms) this species name seems to fit. jdcooper
Didn't check the Bolete for Bruising. I have yet to do a spore print, or take a mushroom home with me. I am getting into this hobby enough now that I will start doing this. I just joined our local mushroom club this week. Excited to learn more. I appreciate you taking the time to look at my photos and help me with ID's. I post a lot of pics on my blog and I like to be accurate.
