Mica cap

The Common Inky Cap

Coprinus micaceous

Tasty but auto-digests rapidly so pick only the freshest--non black ones and cook the same day.

Simple stir fry with shallots ans salt to side dress any grilled meat is good

Currently placed in genus Coprinellus. There are several very similar species that fall under the heading of Coprinellus micaceus. To my knowledge, none are poisonous. One feature of the "Mica Cap" mushrooms is that there are usually tiny glistening grains on the cap surfaces. I don't see this feature here. But, sometimes the grains get washed off by rainfall.
