Pinecones Posted October 9, 2019 Report Share Posted October 9, 2019 I took spore prints on white paper and, while I can normally see the white spores on this paper, I can't see any spores from the cap I used. So either it's beyond my ability to see (white) or it didn't drop spores for me. Exploring the hygrophorus genus in relation to the mushrooms springing up around here and h. latitabundus seems like a good potential for this one. The coniferous forests of the Rocky Mountains produce a lot of Hygrophorus mushrooms in the fall, mainly types I don't see here in eastern NA.
