Natashik
Found these growing between chanterelles, are Baby chanterelles?
CajunShroomer3578
NOT chanterelles. No proposal though. I’ll leave that to the seasoned veterans
MushroomDan
I am not an advanced expert but I can see these are NOT chanterelles! They are definitely not golden chanterelles, they are not yellow foots and they are not cinnabar chanterelles.
Howard
That's right - definitely not chanterelles. In fact the last pick is a different species than the first. It looks like a bit like a Lactarius, but not clear enough to tell. These are not the "Chantelles" the others were growing between??? Because they are not. The first specimens do not have false gills, like Chanterelles, and they are not decurrent gills; they are deeply notched and barely attached, if not free from the stipe. Not able to make a good proposal for them; maybe a Hygrocybe of some species. They look very slippery/slimy from the photos. Were they washed off before the photos? Looks like water droplets on and around them. Were they slimy before wetting them?
tuscany
If you take a fingernail and slice a piece of gills do they bleed a milky substance? My first thought is some type lactarilus as well, though I’m NOT an expert.
Dave W
Looks like two different species seen here, neither of which is any type of Chanterelle. The harvested ones are possibly a species of Gymnopus... or maybe Marasmius. The ones seen in the last photo look like Paxillus.
