Hello,

I have been hiking and running the trails in this area for several years. A few years back I noticed a lot of Laetiporus sulphureus and started looking into it. I have since hunted Laetiporus cincinnatus, Cantharellus cibarius, Cantharellus cinnabarinus, and Grifola frondosa here in my local woods. I'm interested in finding and identifying new mushrooms. This site looks very interesting and I'm looking forward to discussing and learning more about mushrooms here.

Hey kkstep - also a newbie here. Grew up in the McKeesport area, and my first collected edible was also sulphurus. I found them on Yough river bike trail. I also found a bunch of oysters there.
