ChrisG
I have a dead tree in my yard. I believe it was a maple before lightning hit it. I live in Northeast Oklahoma. These mushrooms have popped up on it and I want to make sure they aren’t dangerous as I have little ones. I posted some pictures of them and one of what’s left when I remove them. Thanks in advance! Dave W
This is a type of polypore, a very general category of mushroom. The only polypore species that I know of that's toxic is Hapalopilus nidulans. I don't think the ones seen here represent this species, but just in case here's a dscription. http://www.mushroomexpert.com/hapalopilus_nidulans.html
