USA, Kansas, ID help

Looks like Coprinopsis variegata http://www.mushroomexpert.com/coprinopsis_variegata.html  , or maybe another species of Coprinopsis. Mushrooms in this genus are often called "Inky Caps" because they dissolve into a black liquid after they mature. The ones seen here show signs of this... gills and other portions of the caps are turning black.

Just ran across another name that may apply to the mushrooms seen in this thread... Coprinellus flocculosus.
