I found a cluster of these together on the ground near an old thin dead tree. 

I think it’s brown beach mushrooms... though in the group shot I see the same cap details on the ones in the back and a smoother cap on the very bottom.

What is a "brown beach mushroom"? Perhaps you mean "Beech Mushroom"? I *think* this is a name applied to a cultivated species of genus Cyclocybe (very close to genus Agrocybe).

The mushrooms seen here are old, features are not sharp, stipe base is missing from the harvested mushroom. I think these are a species of Agrocybe. But, confidence in this ID proposal is not high.
