Teabee
Found near the southwest coast of Florida curious if its chicken of the woods? Not planning to eat any of these mushrooms. I took the first pictures last week and the other pic today looks like something has been eating it.
Dave W
I think this is not Chicken Mushroom (various different species of genus Laetiporus). These mushrooms are usually more colorful (especially when young). Not confident about proposing a specific ID. But, here's a possibility, Climacocystis borealis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climacocystis_borealis .

Dave W
Correction on my comment about genus Laetiporus. L. persicinus is not brightly-colored. This species is drab cream/tan not unlike the polypores seen in this thread. But, I don't think the ones in this thread represent this species, as L. persicinus generally does not grow directly on tree trunks. Evidence suggests that L. persicinus is a species that will be moved to a genus other than Laetiporus. The polypores in this thread do look like Climacocystis borealis. However, it is doubtful that the range of this species extends as far south as SW FL. I suppose we can't rule out that this is a rather drab example of L. sulphureus. Some L. sulphureus photos found on the internet are not unlike this. Also, when L. sulphureus is old and decomposing it loses all its color and looks very much like the third photo (from the top). Old/decomposing L. sulphureus has white flesh that breaks apart very easily.
