Matt McDermott
Maybe type of suillus?
Douglasjfetter
This was the spore print
Dave W
Was the photo of the spore print taken with flash? Looks very pale for a Suillus. But, I agree with Matt. Mushrooms look like a species of Suillus.
Douglasjfetter
No flash was used. It looks to be a very light tanish white. It had just rained the night before and they felt like they were slimy and sticky to the touch.
Dave W
"Tannish-white" is a very unusual color for a spore print of any type of bolete (as far as I know). Closest reported Suillus print color I can find is "pale brown" S. decipiens. NA Boletes says this species has a fibrillose partial veil. The photo here appears to show collapsed glutinous veils, but I may be misreading this aspect of the photos. If you still have access to this type mushroom, then take a spore print on white and see if color perception changes. Also, sometimes a spore print fails to exhibit true color if it's too thin. A thicker print may yield a more accurate color.
