Awera
Found several of these today in Exeter New Hampshire. Found in dead leaves along a hiking path. It’s very pale white, clean, smooth skinned, with white gills. No ring, white, thick stem. Smells like a grocery store button mushroom. what is it and is it edible? svs
From my experience it is difficult to identify white mushrooms wich are not lactarius. Spore print may be necessary but not always decisive. Some white mushrooms are edible some not.
The Mushroom Whisperer
In the future, try to excavate the entire mushroom including the entire base of the stem.
