shroomersue
Found lots of these during second week of September. The host mushrooms l. Piperatus, were everywhere too, some incredibly huge! Biggest lobsters i have ever seen, but those past their prime, turning crimson. The best example is shown with the gills somewhat covered by hypomyces on bottom, and the top cleaned up. As you can see, they wash up after being so gnarly in the duff. So far, mushrooming in these parts is quite good!

DufferinShroomer
Sue, Start watching lobster spots around the same time as you start finding chanterelles or maybe a week later. Remember that lobsters will fruit in the same spot each year seemingly forever. I have never found a lobster spot that has actually not fruited the next year.
