Mushroom ID Help

Gills appear to have crenulate to  serrate edges. Do the gills touch the stipe? Or are they rounded-off short of the stipe? Stipe with farinose to punctate surface. My guess is this mushroom was found growing on the ground (as opposed to one wood).

Nothing immediately comes to my mind regarding the ID. Maybe a species of Russula? Tricholoma? It may be helpful to see the mushroom vertically sectioned. Also, spore print color may help (although I'm guessing the print is white).

You will have to excuse me I'm afraid as I don't know any of the terminology I was just curious as they appeared to be everywhere!

The mushroom was found on the ground yes but apart from that I just grabbed a picture out of curiosity, there where also slot of these around the same area...
