CajunShroomer3578
I believe these are Strobilomyces floccopus due to the existing pinkish cap in the young specimen. Just thought I’d share their beauty with you guys. Found in the back yard next to my little chanty patch. Finally we’re getting consistent rain fall here. Haven’t been out much lately. Hopefully this weekend I’ll have some decent hauls to share

John Smalldridge
Those are some neat looking mushrooms for sure. Every once in a while I'm tempted to try cooking one but then I read a report that they are not that great and decide to just enjoy the way they look. Staveshaver
Nice. I like how they look too. Unique. Looks like an Oreo blizzard... with LOTS of Oreos. Same here, John, I've happened upon them easy enough, but haven't tried to eat one yet.
CajunShroomer3578
Lol. I really enjoy them. I was explaining to my better half that they taste like what the woods smell..... best way to discribe it. I actually really like them. But then again I eat some pretty weird things. eat-bolete
Me and my wife like them before they get spongy, while pore surface is still white... I clear off all the warts from the cap and pores as well, if soft, and they fry up pretty well
CajunShroomer3578
Yes forgot to add...... I’ll remove pore surface on more mature specimens

MattVa
I like em pretty good, the more white the better (lightly toasted)and like EB said with light colored pores.
