MushroomDan
So far 2018 is arguably the best year of foraging for us. There are so many great memories. Here are some of them.
John Smalldridge
Looks like a good year of foraging to me too!
Evan
It looks like you are definitely having a great year. Great pictures!
eat-bolete
nice. Definitely the best year for me so far, all thanks to abundant rain.
Matt McDermott
Wow. Great finds MD and EB! Similar here but not that good on the trumpets. Absolutely gobs of chanterelle and oysters this year.
GCn15
Gotta agree. Great year. After a drought last summer, I never yielded a single mushroom. This year I have been finding so many that I am actually walking by them because I can't keep up with the processing. Mushrooming is also my exercise so I just go out and look quite often this year even though I've filled my boots already. Also, I have noticed a vast array of new species that are coming up this year that I never saw in my area before. Very interesting year. eat-bolete
Kings are still hard to find for me though. A wave of separans passed 3-4 weeks ago and even though it keeps raining, I’ve only seen once since then.
MattVa
Same for me as well EB, I don't find alot of true Kings. We have some small finds of Variipes and other oak loving types but the pines we have don't support much. I occasionally get lucky under some planted white pine or spruce. CajunShroomer3578
I’m jealous of you guys. My sweet potato sacks aren’t getting filled this year. Between life and work just haven’t had enough time. Lack of rain up until this week has been scarce. Very sweet scores gentlemen
John Smalldridge
Eat-bolete that looks like you got your share of mushrooms this year. I'm in the same boat as cajun this year with a new wife and four month old son. Needless to say that I haven't had as much time to forage or fish as I have in the past. eat-bolete
That’s an army of trumpets, nice! Made some nice pics of those recently too. The rain stopped though, don’t see many mushrooms anymore. Time to go do some fishing.
