svs
They are small, may be an inch in diameter. Yellow on a first picture is exaturated some. Second is more realistic They look like C. appalachiensis posted couple days ago. Those are found in Southern NJ in a mixed pine, oak, maple etc forest
Evan
Compare these to craterellus ignicolor.
Dave W
I think the pseudo-gills are too well-developed and pale for Craterellus ignicolor, but I wouldn't rule out this species... or maybe a similar Craterellus species. The depressed cap centers --a few of which are like holes-- points toward genus Craterellus. Possibly Cantharellus minor http://www.mushroomexpert.com/cantharellus_minor.html. If correct, then these are large examples (for this species of very small mushrooms). But I think, Craterellus makes more sense here. Interesting. The Mushroom Whisperer
Svs, are the stems hollow?
svs
I did not pay attention, those are pretty small mushrooms and stem is pretty thin. But I left some behind. I will check stem on coming weekend if any are left.
