jonkotowski
I haven't been able to find anything in the field guide reference for a mushroom that looks like this. It's granite like flesh seems fairly unique. Any ideas anyone as far as what kind of mushrooms this is will be appreciated. The top was a rusty brown color. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of that. But the nature of the top surface was almost clay like. Kind of paste like. The weight was similar to any mushroom with dense flesh. Thanks for you interest and input.
jonkotowski
I forgot to include my location. I'm in savannah georgia and it was growing towards but not directly against the base of a pecan tree.

jonkotowski
Since your response ladyflyfsh I have found quite a few more. I squeezed the most recent finds and found they contained a bright yellow liquid that stained my hands for quite some time. Thanks for the the response that lead me in the right direction!
