Douglasjfetter
I had posted a picture of some out sets growing from under my basil plant they popped up twice in 2 different spots I have not seen anything since. However now this is there is it some sort of deformation or just a clump of moldy something? It's hard to the touch.
Dave W
Are there gills on the underside of these blobs? If so, then they may be young Oyster Mushrooms. But my guess is they are hard and without gills, in which case they are the beginning stage of some type of polypore.

Dave W
A young polypore. Maybe Trametes gibbosa or Trametes cubensis. As the mushroom matures, the pores may or may not enlarge and/or change shape.
Douglasjfetter
Wait.... Cubensis is that not the bad type that makes you hallucinate??? I don't want that in my garden I have dogs should I be worried about that
Dave W
Psilocybe cubensis is a psychoactive mushroom that grows in Nature on cow patties. Trametes cubensis is a polypore that presumably contains no psychoactive ingredients. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trametes_cubensis

Dave W
Good idea to clear way wild fungi from a dog's habitat.
