Gacek16
I'm almost certain this is Dryad's saddle, but I just want a second opinion to be sure (I plan to try some). I found it on a dead tree in where I live in south eastern Wisconsin. It was on the same tree I found it last year, but then it was about a foot wide and had much larger pores on the underside. This one is about 2" wide.
Matt McDermott
Yep. Looks like it to me.
Dave W
Correct. A young Dryad's Saddle (Cerioporus squamosus). The knob-like shape is typical for the pre-expanded caps.
