angela
It's been so dry here that mushrooms have been very hard to find. My mom visited and found exactly one morel a couple weeks ago. I found nothing that day. Today I found an umbrella polypore. It was growing on my property in the same area I've found them in the past. I was very excited. I took it home, cleaned it up, cooked it, and my husband and I ate it. It was delicious. I guess it won't be long before I'll be finding chanterelles if it starts raining and stays warm. Dave W
Nice! In over 35 years of mushroom hunting I've found this species only twice.

angela
Thanks, There are many trees in the area, but probably I would say it was mostly under white oaks.
