That is simple Panaeolina Foenisecii. You can tell easily by the chocalate brown gills and the remnants of the sun-bleached zonates. liberty caps tend to have a pretty vibrant bluing reaction. Even Panaeolus Cinctulus has some bluing on the base of the stem. If your finding these, you should be able to find some Cinctulus as well. just look for the ones with dark black gills instead of these brown ones. Also Cinctulus tends to be a little bigger when mature.

Thanks Mushmouth for your help with an ID on this. As I said before, this is not the place to discuss psycotropic mushrooms. If you want to discuss this more, either do it through PM's or take it to the Shroomery. Also, since you are both new to our forums, please familiarize yourselves with the board rules: http://wildmushroomhunting.org/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules

We would like to know what is growing in your neck of the woods...besides what you've posted already! Are you finding any chanterelles? Are you having drought conditions? This is the sort of thing the rest of us are interested in. Thanks!

Thanks all i was looking for. I am ust curious on what it was. I wasn't planning on "using" it but just making sure what it is that is growing all over the neighbor.

Here in NJ we have been recently getting Thunder storms and i mainly look for medicinal mushrooms but of course i find A LOT of other types and i am fascinated so i take picture and try to ID them all! PS REISHI is going insane i found over 20 in one spot! Still looking for some Chaga, and Turkey Tail in the same area. But found it else where.

I am finding a lot of Ganoderma curtisii (lucidum) where I live also. Tis the season. The problem with finding chaga is you have to look up, not down! Find yellow or white birch. I don't have chaga near me so I have to travel for that.
