svs
Found those cute mushrooms on a recent trip to Cairns, AU. I think I saw similar on a post few months ago but can't find it. As I remember they are edible but I did not have a chance to try them since stayed in a hotel. In some places people bring freshly caught fish to the restaurant and ask chief to cook it. I am not sure if this can work with wild mushrooms.
Dave W
This is Phallus indusiatus, a type of "stinkhorn". http://www.mushroomexpert.com/phallus_indusiatus.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phallus_indusiatus . One of the members in our group prepares this mushroom as food. Here's a discussion. (Note that the label "morel" was incorrectly applied.) svs
Thank you Dave, It looks exactly as P. Indusiatus. Too bad I did not get a chance to try it.
