Dave W
King Bolete. Most of these are considered to be one of the "species" lumped under the heading Boletuis edulis. Boletus chippewaensis is another name often applied to a Canadian King Bolete. https://www.mycoquebec.org/bas.php?trie=B&l=l&nom=Boletus chippewaensis / Cèpe d'Amérique&tag=Boletus chippewaensis&gro=5 Honestly, I don't know how to distinguish chippewaensis from the ones called edulis. The photo of the mushroom in profile is a bit overexposed, but the reticulations --threadlike netting-- are visible on the upper part of the stalk.
