dualsetters
Billy and I were walking in the mountains last year, July 11, 2011 to be exact and we came across these on a rotted tree stump. Wondering what they are. Any idea's anyone?
Dave W
Color is a bit neon-like, and the photo does not reveal some characteristics. But I think these are a species of Xemomphalina. Maybe X. campanella, if on coniferous wood. Or maybe X. kauffmanii, if on hardwood. These two species often nearly cover old rotting logs.
