Aln
Just wanted to post here the mushrooms I have been finding from Aug till Oct. I only really started going foraging myself lately but have done so in the pass before with pros. Embarrassing to say but I was very proud to be able to find some of these edible shrooms on my own
Old Oak
? Why would you be embarrassed about being a proficient forager? That’s something to be proud of!
GCn15
Hey, you got one tasty selection of edibles there. Nothing at all to be embarrassed about. You see all the pictures on here but the guys uploading them are putting in the hours to find them....don't ever kid yourself. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, collecting a bounty is putting miles under your feet.
Aln
Yep! There is always a 4hr minimum, hike that follows with every trip I head out too. I am lucky enough that I at least am able to find at least one edible (choice) mushroom. It has been a very weird year here in Toronto since the weather is very unstable which makes looking for mushrooms even harder! But for those that are discouraged, don't be!!! Cause when you find your first hand size edible in great condition all the long hours seems to melt way and turn to satisfaction! For me I would be that wonderful lobster mushroom
troutddicted
Nice hauling . Im from the east side of the city and forage in Barrie/Peterborough areas and lots up near Bancroft - weird year here for me as well.
GCn15
I am from Northern Manitoba and have countless hours of walking with almost no yield this year. Thankfully, last year was exceptional and I dehydrated a LOT of mushrooms because this year has been a complete dud. Drought conditions through the entire season.
