White chanterelles

Found a handful of these guys this last weekend. Definitely not in the numbers I was hoping, but it’s still way to dry.  Made a good couple of meals though.

wow! I've  heard of the white chanties never seen one. It is cool.

We don't have the white chanties on our east coast! No wonder I never seen one. I also heard that the yellow chanterelles in WA and OR taste better than our east coast ones. Is that true?

The hymenium (underside) seen in the top photo consists of forked blunt folds/ridges rather than true gills. This eliminates a Pleurotus ID (Oyster Mushroom) from consideration.
