I know the URL above is about a plant (Sciaphila sugimotoi), but it feeds off mushroom and mold roots. Reminded me of something more local to me:

I remember when I first found Monotropa uniflora and learning there were parasitic plants which didn't perform photosynthesis.  I was beyond surprised they existed and amazed I found some in person.  This is great too!
