Matt McDermott
Picked up a new Case XX bone handle 'hawk bill pruning' knife for mushrooming. Can't wait to use it on some chicken and hens.
KY-FUNGI
My Dad loved Cases. That one you're holding is rustically beautiful. I bought a little Opinel No. 8 recently for harvesting mushrooms. I had never seen a mushroom knife before. :-) Yours is much better looking! I will need something bigger when I find Grifola frondosa.

Thanks, I looked at that same mushrooming knife as well, but went with the Case because i also have about 40 apple/pear trees in my orchard and was going to double duty the new knife....pruning and foraging. Have to justify the purchases to the wife...lol
Staveshaver
I got the Opinel a couple of weeks ago and haven't used it yet. I bet it will get in under most Hens and Sulfurs ok. I've carried a Bowie though and even it was barely big enough for the biggest ones.
Old Oak
I use an Ontario RAT I. It's super sturdy and hold an edge pretty well. That Case is super nice.
Jed
I have been using the Opinel for few years for chanterelles. It is awesome. The brush at the end is very handy in cleaning. It also have ridges on the outside that can be helpful. Having said that, Matt's knife definitely looks Beautiful

Matt McDermott
I like that 'clipped' tip on the Maserin. Might have to pick one of those up as well.
