Eablincoln
Hello Mushrooming community! My name is Eab, from central Massachusetts, and I am relatively new to the world of mushroom identification! A few years ago I went on a mushroom walk with a more professional friend where we found a big clump of hen of the woods and cooked them right up. I have since been reading books and the internet about the topic and have become keener at spotting mushrooms out on the trails and can identify a few common ones in these parts! What I love most about the new hobby is how much it gets me to stop and see the smaller wonderful things in nature, and I can now identify many plants and insects too. This morning I got pretty excited to find my biggest reishi yet, Ganoderma tsugae I'm assuming as it's the northeast. Didn't get a precise measurement but it was at least as big as my outstretched hand. I found 3 more smaller ones too. Take care, excited to join a community I care about

The Vault Dweller
G. tsugae was one of the first mushrooms I found to genuinely fascinate me and lead me to turn this from an education hobby to a form of amateur research. You'll find lots of useful information and people here to help you.
