MushroomDan
Found June 8th. Deciduous forest. Growing from a vertical dead tree. Odor is mild and somewhat pleasant. Is this edible?

Dave W
I agree, a Pleurtous species. Oysters. But just to be sure a collection of oyster-looking mushrooms are not actually a Lentinellus species --for example http://www.mushroomexpert.com/lentinellus_ursinus.html -- nibble a tiny piece, spit, and evaluate the taste. Lentinellus mushrooms have an unpleasant peppery taste; Oysters mild, pleasant.
